- Page Modes
Page Modes
Choose the right Docsalot page shell for each page.
Page modes let you control how much of the Docsalot shell appears around an individual page. Use them when a standard guide, a wide reference page, or a splash-style entry page all need different surrounding chrome.
Available modes
Default
The standard docs experience with sidebar, page header, table of contents, and footer.
Wide
Keeps the docs shell, removes the right-side headings panel, and gives the content more room.
Center
Removes the sidebar and table of contents, but keeps the normal page header and footer.
Custom
Keeps only the top navbar so you can build a landing page or splash page inside the docs site.
Frame
Keeps the sidebar, removes the table of contents, and opens the content area into a cleaner canvas.
Add a page mode
Add mode in a page’s frontmatter:
---
title: "Guide"
---
mode to use the default docs layout. When to use each mode
Default
Use the default shell for most guides, tutorials, and reference content. It keeps the full docs reading experience intact.
Wide
Use wide when the content benefits from more horizontal room, or when the right-side headings panel is unnecessary.
Center
Use center for focused standalone pages such as changelogs, release notes, or announcements that should read cleanly without the sidebar.
Custom
Use custom for splash pages and highly curated entry pages where you want the top navbar but not the rest of the standard docs chrome.
Frame
Use frame when you want to keep the sidebar for navigation but give the page a more open canvas by removing the table of contents column.
